Case Study 6: Strategy & Implementation – IT Communications

Giant Financial Services Company Pioneers Mobile Workforce

A giant financial services company aimed to lead the industry in information technology and was the first to introduce a completely mobile workforce through the nationwide rollout of laptop computers. The company needed to communicate the importance of the change to the sales force and help them understand and use the new technology. The company also wanted to gain external recognition of its IT leadership.

Solution:

Leaders of Vitiello Communications Group provided ongoing communications support to the IT communications team, writing articles for the sales force newsletters, and preparing award entries that earned the financial services giant top honors in many prestigious industry associations and trade publications.

Result:

The financial services company distinguished itself as the leader in mobile workforce solutions – and its IT executives became nationally sought-after spokespeople on technology innovation. In the years leading up to Y2K (the global Year 2000 computer conversion), we drafted Congressional testimony for these leaders to deliver at hearings in the House and Senate in Washington, D.C.

Our contributions to success:

  • Wrote articles for the sales force about the mobile technology and its benefits to them and to their customers
  • Developed official language about the mobile workforce solutions, which was used in key messages, Q&A, leader communications and award entries.
  • Wrote award-winning entries for numerous prestigious industry awards
  • Worked with trade publications to prepare articles describing the company’s mobile workforce solutions
