What do a beloved TV sitcom and a top-notch professional organization have in common? If you're talking about "Cheers" and the Council of Communication Management they are both places where everybody knows your name. I just returned from the annual CCM Conference, which was held in Toronto this year. It's been my privilege to serve on the board of this distinguished organization for three years, and it is always a joy to reconnect with friends and colleagues every year. The great thing about CCM is that, even if you arrive at Conference not knowing a soul, by the time you leave, you will have expanded your network by about 100 senior communications professionals - and just about every one of them will know you by name. No other professional association offers that kind of rich, personal connection.
